WHITNEY POINT – Visiting Greene could not overcome two early first-half goals by Whitney Point Thursday, falling to the five-time defending state champion Golden Eagles for the second time in less than a week, 2-1.

Freshman Brenna Bough scored both Whitney Point goals, ten minutes part, including the opening tally just 24 seconds into the Section IV Division I contest. Her second goal came with 19:40 left in the opening half.

Greene, who lost to the Golden Eagles in the opening round of the Greene Tournament last Friday night, halved the lead 1:38 before halftime when Maddie Rice scored in traffic in front of the Whitney Point cage - Molly Flanagan picking up the assist.
