OXFORD – Schenevus outshot the Lady Blackhawks 23-1 during Saturday night’s championship game of the Oxford Girls Soccer tournament, winning the game 5-1 to hoist the trophy.

At intermission, Oxford held the opposing team to a 1-0 lead but Schenevus’ Angelina Competiello – who tallied the first goal of the contest 24:36 left in the first half – scored a hat trick in the second half to rack up a total of four goals in the game.

Competiello’s teammate Shawna Whiteman found the back of the net once to give Schenevus their fifth goal. Kayleigh Bryant, Autumn Jones and Liana Darling all assisted on goals in the game.

Lexi Kohlhepp made 18 saves for the Blackhawks during the championship game, earning an all-tournament team selection. Madison Kohlhepp came in for her sister and stopped two Schenevus shots in the second half.

Oxford made the championship game due to the 2-1 victory over Downsville the night before.

The Blackhawks’ Emily Barrows fielded a Lexi Lexi Kohlhepp punt and used her speed to carry the ball up the field and put a shot on net with 2:17 left in the first half of play, giving her team a 1-0 lead.
