"The Library Board came up with the idea as something new and exciting the Library could do for the community," said Dalrymple. "We’ve been loaning out DVDs and Blu-Rays for many years, but having the movies outside gives folks a reason to come together in a fun, relaxed atmosphere."

She said the library officials settled on Wednesdays because they didn’t want to be in competition with the Colonia Theater.

"Every spring we put out a survey to see which up-and-coming new releases Norwich residents would like to see," said Dalrymple. "We try to show a mix of movies to appeal to both children and adults."
