NORWICH – Six individuals were indicted this month, with allegations for various felony crimes including criminal possession of a weapon, assault, and strangulation.
• Corey A. Weidman, 34, of Norwich was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A felony, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony.
• Cheyanne D. Moore, 22, of Norwich was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A felony, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.
According to Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting, after executing a search warrant on Weidman’s and Moore’s apartment at 93 East Main Street in Norwich police discovered approximately 1.8 kilograms (approximately four pounds) of crystal methamphetamine, 3 ounces of cocaine, 4.5 ounces of marihuana and other drugs including, LSD, MDMA, and Suboxone strips. Police also recovered approximately $35,625 in cash, a loaded handgun, and seized a 2004 Honda Civic.
• Randall C. Harmon, 37, of Sherburne was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, a class D felony, second-degree strangulation, a class D felony, aggravated criminal contempt, a class D felony, two counts of first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony, and third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor.
According to his indictment, on December 15, 2018, in the Town of Sherburne Harmon on State Highway 12, Harmon violated an order of protection, bit a victim’s breast, threw the victim to the ground, choked them, hit them in the face, caused the victim serious physical injury by twisting their leg tearing their anterior cruciate ligament muscle, strangled them, and hit them with a belt.
