NORWICH – A Guilford man pleaded guilty to grand larceny after spending over $8,000 with a stolen credit card. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and agreed to pay the money back.

Eric K. Wilcox, 34, of Guilford, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony after he was told he would serve six months in jail with five years of probation as long as he paid $3,000 of his restitution at the time of sentencing.

Wilcox admitted that he worked with another person, who was also arrested in the case, to steal a credit card, and then spent over $8,541.86 from May 15 through May 29.

According to Chenango County First Assistant District Attorney Michael Ferrarese, the decision to reduce Wilcox's jail time was made by court and even though a plea was agreed on by both attorneys, sentencing is ultimately decided by the court.
