OTSELIC – The Lady Vikings recorded their third win of the season on Tuesday after defeating league opponent Stockbridge Valley, 1-0.
While OV was able to score one goal, head coach Eric Wentworth stated the Vikings had many opportunities to score.
“I was disappointed we didn’t convert more opportunities,” said Wentworth, “but it was nice to have our offense find our stride over the last few games after struggling earlier in the year.”
Cassie Agren of Otselic Valley converted a long distance try late in the first half to give her team the 1-0 lead.
The Vikings defense played to hold the lead, allowing just six shots for Stockbridge Valley throughout the contest.
Lily Lyon and Jessica Comfort of Otselic Valley gave the home team many chances throughout the game according to Wentworth. “We will be looking to convert more of those shots Wednesday and Friday,” said Wentworth. Both games will see the Vikings play Brookfield with OV on the road Wednesday. They will host to end the week.
