Oxford 42, Sidney 30
SIDNEY – In their second meeting this season, Oxford topped the Sidney Lady Warriors 42-30, revenging the loss from the consolation game at the Greene Tip-Off tournament just two weeks ago. The win gave the Lady Blackhawks their first win of the season.
The win stems from the getting the ball inside and three of Oxford’s post players finishing at the rim with some nice post moves, stated Oxford’s head coach Chris Palmer.
Caitlyn Quigley, one of the Blackhawks’ post players, finished with three made field goals and went four-for-six from the free-throw line. She led all scorers on the contest with 10 points.
Karley Miller and Hannah Hodge, Oxford’s other two post players chipped in eight points a piece while their teammate, Jada Albin dished out six assists.
Sidney’s Savannah Baldwin ended the night with a team-high nine points in the loss.
Oxford will have the weekend off before they host Greene on Tuesday, the Blackhawks’ last game before the holiday break.
