Taking the loss for Oxford, on the mound, was Nolan Dodweitz. Dodweitz pitched 74 pitches in just two innings – for three strikeouts, three walks, while allowing six hits for eight runs, three of which were earned.

Issac Bennett was called in for Oxford for what proved to be the final two innings – pitching 50 pitches for three walks, no strikeouts, and allowing six hits for seven runs, one of which was earned.

The Oxford defense did little to help their pitchers, committing five errors which allowed 11 unearned runs to score in the four innings which Cherry Valley-Springfield was up to bat.

Oxford found themselves in a 3-0 hole after the first inning – a hole which could have easily been climbed out of.
