NHS students complete YES LEADS training

NORWICH – 75 Norwich High School students recently completed their training to be officially named YES LEADers.

YES LEADers are high school students who are taught different skills in order to resist the pressures of drug and alcohol usage, including the importance of positive self-esteem in making safe choices, and how to effectively handle peer pressure. YES LEADers go on to teach their learned skills to elementary school students in the area.

The YES Launch training program–sponsored by Senator Fred Akshar and Lourdes Hospital–aims to teach YES LEADers how to be good role models for younger students through various team activities and educational sessions.
