NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado have opened up their regular season with impressive wins on the road over Susquehanna Valley before conquering their home Tom Schwan Tournament this past weekend – but no win has been more of a blowout than the game that Norwich forced Windsor to drudge through – as the Tornado won 97-37.
Scoring just six points to begin the game on Dec. 6, Windsor's sluggish play was no match for the Tornado boys who racked up 24 points to open the game – with six different players scoring.
Although improved play did eventually come through for the Black Knights in the second and third period – when they put up 13 and 14 points respectively. Norwich would continue to rain down the shots with scores of 28 and 26 in those respective periods – as a team draining 11 three-point shots and going 12-18 from the charity stripe.
Leading the Norwich offense – which was pushing for triple digits in scoring on the night when all was said and done – was Dashawn King who netted 20 points. King would grab two of the 11 three's for himself while having 100 percent from the line when he went 4-4.
The no contest-contest that Norwich opened up their non-tournament play at home game the Tornado fans a clinic on scoring as three players hit double-digits in scoring – Tre Bonham grabbing 16 points, and Chris Jeffrey grabbing 11 points of his own.
The Tornado defense would hold all of Windsor's nine players who saw time to just 37 total points, with only one player managing to crack into double digit scoring – Timothy Bucheck who scored 13 points on the day.
