Top-seeded Blue Raider's Prove Too Much For Trojans To Overcome

By: Cameron Turner

TRUMANSBURG – For the second year in a row the Greene Trojans boys varsity soccer team – fourth seed – has dominated their way into the Section IV Class C semifinals, and for the second year in a row they have fallen short, this time losing 2-0 to Trumansburg.

The Blue Raider's of Trumansburg had to play a smooth and even game, in order to defeat the visiting Trojans on Oct. 25.

Taking the lead at the half was Trumansburg by a score of 1-0, after Logan Bonn took one in finding the back of the Greene net.

The Trojans would try to rally but were unable to sink a shot on the Blue Raider goalkeeper, Jack English who recorded five saves in the game.

The Trojans simply failed to catch any traction in the second half as well, as it ultimately played out much like the first had when Evan Turkon took his ball in for the 2-0 lead over Greene – assist from Bonn.

Down 2-0, Greene's offense – which produced seven shots on goal and three corners compared to Trumansburg's eight shots and five corners – failed to produce against the number one seeded Blue Raider's.
