By: Jim Testani

NORWICH - The Norwich varsity wrestling team looked impressive as ever on Thursday, December 10, when they hosted Sherburne-Earlville. Norwich would dominate much of the match and win 53-27.

To start off the match Sherburne-Earlville gave up four forfeits starting at the 99 pound weight class, giving Norwich a 26-0 start. To start off the night's first match Norwich's Dalen Geislinger took on S-E's Mike Trask at 126 pounds. Geislinger came away with the win 8-0. Norwich would go on to win five straight matches, including two pins and two tech-falls.

Brothers Ty and Cole Rifanburg both earned tech-falls on the night at 138 and 152 pounds. Both wrestlers only gave up one point in their 16-1 and 17-1 victories over S-E.

"We came really strong and had some things go our way," said Norwich coach Bob Hagenbuch. "I told our guys that every point counts and they took that to heart tonight."
