Norwich 7, Chenango Forks 0

NORWICH – Norwich wrapped up its fourth straight STAC division title Monday, and earned a spot in this weekend's STAC tournament sweeping all seven points from Chenango Forks.

Norwich seniors Zan Stewart, Colin Stewart, and Matt Craig, who have played the one through three singles spots on all four division title winners, all came away with convincing straight sets victories.

Norwich head coach John Stewart said his team has gone unbeaten against division competition the past three seasons, and has just one division loss over the past four. "We had a little extra motivation today to finish off the division title," Stewart said. "The guys came out and played more aggressive, and we're getting ready for the STAC semi against Maine-Endwell later in the week."

OTEGO – Sherburne-Earlville's bats awoke in the fourth inning scoring three runs in Monday's non-league victory at Unatego.

Emma Hodges led off the fourth with a triple, and scored on Abbey Beaver's single. Savannah Irwin then followed with a two-run homer.

"It was a long ride over there (to Unatego High School), and it took a while for our bats to get gong," said S-E coach Michelle Parker.

Marauders pitchers Crystal Beckwith and Hodges combined on the victory, and each player gave up just two hits. The pitching duo was supported by the Marauders' first error-free game of the season, Parker said.
