Owego 13, Norwich 5
OWEGO – One bad inning cost the Purple Tornado in Thursday's road loss to Owego.
The Indians plated seven runs in the bottom of the third to extend their lead to 12-3. "This game was winnable and I saw some improvement, we just need to get rid of the errors and you can't give up 13 basehits," said Norwich coach Rich Turnbull.
Owego's Zach Zielinski and Ben Schmidt had two hits and each drove in three runs.
Norwich mounted a season-high 13 hits, but left 10 runners on base. Jake Walsh went 3-for-4 with two RBI, Nick Murphy was 3-for-3 with two RBI, and Kevin Porack added three hits.
Gabe Gojani was solid in relief pitching three-plus innings and allowing just one run.

Hancock 16, Greene 5
GREENE – Hancock's hot hitting this week continued at Greene Thursday as the Wildcats rapped out 19 hits in a blowout victory.
Joe Gross had five hits for Hancock, and Preston Walker collected three base knocks. Greene compounded its troubles making six errors. "Hancock can swing the bats, and they make you pay for every mistake you make," said Greene interim coach Pete Mansheffer. "I was proud that our kids didn't roll over and still fought, even though it was a big deficit."
Joe Phillips was a perfect 3-for-3 to lead Greene.
