Norwich 70, Chenango Forks 37
NORWICH – A surge midway through the third quarter helped Norwich quiet Chenango Forks’ comeback hopes in Friday night’s Purple Tornado victory.
Carlos Ithier led a balanced Norwich scoring lineup with 12 points. Ithier was central to Norwich’s big third-quarter spurt that turned a 35-22 game into a 47-24 advantage.
Ithier hit a jumper off a steal, canned a three after a kickout pass from Mike Oralls, then pumped in another trey with Oralls again providing the helper.
With both clubs’ reserves on the court for much of the fourth quarter, the Tornado reserves steamrolled the Blue Devils finishing the last six minutes on a 20-5 spurt.
Tre Bonham had eight in the final quarter and Chris Trevisani seven.
“I thought our offensive execution, especially the second half, was very good,” said Norwich coach Tom Collier, who credited the passing of Oralls and Zan Stewart.
Norwich (10-2) dictated with its defense creating 27 turnovers in the game, while committing just four turnovers itself. Combined with a 21-assist team total, Norwich amassed game statistics that typically lead to good results.
“I thought we played better this game than the first time we played them,” Collier said. “Our ball pressure was great up top, and we extended their offense so they couldn’t get the ball in the low post. All of the kids played well tonight.”
Jamison Luke added 11 points for Norwich, who play at Windsor on Friday.
In the JV game, Norwich improved to 8-3 overall winning 65-39. Mike Carson led with 13 points, Zach Race added 11, and Dashawn King netted 10.

SHERBURNE - Sherburne-Earlville avenged an early-season loss to Canastota – the last team to beat it – to extend its winning streak to 10 games Friday
The Raiders trimmed an 11-point S-E halftime lead to 32-26 with 5:26 left in the third quarter. From there, S-E finished the quarter on a 14-4 run keyed by three balls from Derek Capria and Matt Hull.
