McGraw 3, Otselic Valley 2

SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley's strong second half was not enough to overcome a three-goal halftime deficit to McGraw Monday afternoon.
"We were there to watch the first half, and McGraw took advantage," said OV coach Jacob Preston. "The second half, we decided it was time to play."
Austin Reynolds had two unassisted goals for OV in the first 25 minutes of the second half. With three minutes remaining, an apparent Vikings tying goal was waved off by officials. "This game could have been over in the first half, but my players never gave up and continued to battle,” Preston said.
Saturday against Moravia, OV busted open a 1-0 halftime lead over Moravia when Jason Olin scored a minute into the second half off an assist from Matt Neal, and a few minutes later, Neal scored off an Olin feed.
"We needed to change our attacking method with less touches and getting the ball wide," Preston said. "We worked hard on it in practice, and it paid off. Four of our six goals happened because we were able to get the ball wide and stretch out the defense."
Olin finished with a hat trick, and Neal had four assists to go with his goal. Connor Smith also scored for the Vikings (7-4), who play at Brookfield Wednesday.

Holland Patent 3, Sherburne-Earlville 1
HOLLAND PATENT – Holland Patent scored all three of its goals in the first half before the Marauders' defense clamped down Monday afternoon.
The Marauders had a good amount of ball possession, but failed to make the connections on crossing passes in the Holland Patent defensive zone, said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez.
The Marauders' Kyle Cole had the only goal of the second half taking a pass from Max Britton, beating a defender, then hitting a left-footed shot from 20 yards out. "We really did a much better job in the second half," Rodriguez said.
The Marauders host Adirondack Wednesday.
