NORWICH – Norwich won its eighth straight match Wednesday afternoon moving one step closer to a STAC Central Division title.

Norwich honored its six senior players before the match, and all six players had a hand in the victory.

"We had some good wins at singles from Taylor (Stroh) and Makenzie (Maynard), and our first doubles team (Cohley Acenowr-Sam Gage) dominated a match against a team that was more troublesome the first time they played," said Norwich coach John Stewart.

SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley scored two second-half goals to win for the fourth time in five games Tuesday.

Austin Reynolds had both OV goals scoring the first one 14 minutes into the second half when Colton Smith served the ball over the defense to Reynolds, who put away the pinpoint pass. Reynolds then scored unassisted on a direct kick just nine minutes later.

"We dominated the last 25 minutes of the first half, but we were unable to score after having countless opportunities," said OV coach Jake Preston. "We were finally able to break through in the second half."

The Vikings play back-to-back night games at home hosting Madison on Friday and Cincinnatus on Saturday.

Seton Catholic Central 11, Norwich 0

BINGHAMTON – Norwich gave up an own goal to start the game, and it went downhill from there as the Tornado suffered its most lopsided loss of the season Wednesday.

Genna Michitti had four goals for the Saints, recently ranked the number two Class C team in New York. "They're a high quality team, and their subs were high quality players," said Norwich coach Adam Sprague. "I'd be surprised if they are not challenging for a state title. (Seton Catholic Central) is by far the best team we have played this year."
