SHERBURNE – Morrisville-Eaton's prolific offense stopped Sherburne-Earlville's recent momentum with a four-goal victory Wednesday.
Jen Hilts scored 3:37 into the game, and Jessica Welsh added two more first-half goals for the three-goal halftime lead.
S-E's Kaley Judge countered for the home club early in the second half to give her team some hope. "They came back stronger after we scored," said S-E coach Sheila Cooman. "They're athletic, and they keep pounding on you."
Cooman did laud the goalie play of S-E’s Allison Johnson, and did say her team’s defense played better than the final score indicates. "We didn't play our best, but the official came up to us after the game and said it may not be any consolation, but she thought we had a good team."
