By: Shaun Savarese

Storm Cook, Norwich, senior

Senior forward and Oklahoma State fan, Storm Cook averaged almost two blocks a game. He had 14 rebounds, eight offensive, in the sectional title game over Oneonta. While amassing 212 points, with 11 games in double figures, he averaged 8.3 rebounds. Cook also averaged a productive 10 plus points over 21 games. “Storm had a great year. The big game for him was the Seton game, that was big key for him, that was his break out game, that established him. He played with a lot more confidence after that game. He grew by leaps in bounds throughout the year. He's one of the best rebounders in Section IV. He overcame a lot of adversity with his health situation. He's the nicest kid you'll ever meet. He was a pleasure for me to coach over three years. It all came together for him his senior year. He's a very beloved player. Storm Cook will be remembered in our program long after he's gone,” said Collier.

Kevin Davis, Oxford, sophomore

Kevin Davis, a sophomore, scored 13 times in double digits this season. He had 226 points in total and 20 points against Bainbridge-Guilford. “He worked real hard on both sides of the floor. He was always a strong defender,” said Oxford head coach Tim Davis. The 6-foot-four-inch sophomore has been coaching and managing basketball since he could walk. The “all-around,” “versatile” player “uses everything to his advantage,” said Davis.

David DuFresne, Unadilla Valley, sophomore

David DuFresne is something special. He had 387 total points this year. He went over ten points in a game 20 times with 32 on Walton and again for 32 against Oneonta. DuFresne averaged 19 points a game. “He’s the best athlete that I’ve coached in my 17 years,” said Osborne, “he’s explosive, has a jump shot, and good leaping ability to rebound and elevate over the basket to block shots.” DuFresne was named Midstate Athletic Conference 2013-2014 Player of the Year. “Near the end of the year, he was one person we could rely on defensively,” said Osborne.

Austin Jasper, Sherburne-Earlville, senior

Austin Jasper averaged 17 points per game this year. He had 33 of his 356 total points against Clinton on December 10. The senior guard scored in double figures 18 times, with 28 points against Holland Patent and 20 points in a December game against Oneonta. Jasper was named Center State conference player of the year for the second time in three years. “He was really a leader of this team as far as being a calming influence on the floor. He understood what needed to be done and it really helped his teammates up their level of play,” said head coach Kevin Vibbard Sr. “Austin is the best big man in our league. Being voted the most valuable player in our league was great honor for him,”said Vibbard Sr.

Michael Oralls, Norwich, senior

Michael Oralls, senior, was right behind Cook in scoring with 203 total points. He scored ten times in double figures and averaged 6.3 boards. “The thing about Michael Oralls is that he's really an unorthodox basketball player. He's got a football body, he's very strong, he makes unorthodox shots. He makes shots without looking at the rim. A lot of the times when he would go in and score people weren't ready for it. His unorthodox approach offensively worked to his advantage. He has a will of steel. He's got incredibly strong hands. You never saw Michael Oralls lose the ball. He's just so strong. If things are going to happen around the ball Michael Oralls is going to be there. He has a nose for the ball,” said Collier.
