NORWICH – The recent relocation of some of United Health Services’ outpatient services to The Eaton Center was made in an effort to provide enhanced customer service by positioning these departments in a centrally-located building within the City of Norwich.
United Health Services (UHS) Home Care of Norwich has moved to a new, convenient office in the Eaton Center in downtown Norwich. The office is on the first floor, inside the main entrance on the Conkey Avenue side of the building. UHS Home Care in Norwich is easily accessible and there is plenty of parking right outside the building’s main entrance.
Identified by Home Care Elite – which publishes an annual review of the most successful home care providers in the United States – as one of the top 500 home health agencies in the country, UHS Home Care has been providing medical products and home care services to the greater Binghamton and Chenango County areas for more than two decades. It is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and certified by Medicare.
UHS Home Care offers in-home nursing, physical, occupational, speech, sleep and respiratory and oxygen therapy, and an array of additional services for people recovering from illness, surgery or recent hospitalization, and for those living with chronic disease. It serves people throughout Central and Southern New York, including Chenango County. These services are in addition to providing medical equipment and supplies.
Educating the patient is another important and necessary part of the home care office staff. In addition to handling the logistics of outpatient home care, staff members at UHS Home Care assist with the proper referrals, insurance paperwork and help patients understand what health care benefits may be provided by their commercial, Medicaid or Medicare insurance.
The home care practice is the second member of the locally owned, not-for-profit UHS system to take advantage of the accessibility of professional space at The Eaton Center building, which was formerly home to Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals and Procter and Gamble's Norwich operations.
Prior to the relocation of UHS Home Care, the C.V. Stratton Center for Therapies shifted its operations into the Eaton center in the fall of 2013.
The physical therapy practice, which was located in North Plaza on State Route 12 for more than a decade, joined forces with SECO Physical Therapy formerly located on County Road 32 in the Town of Norwich.
