NORWICH – The Chenango Arts Council will host a special reception from 5-7 p.m. Friday when it unveils its latest exhibit, “Recent Paintings of People Like You,” at the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Galleries, 27 West Main Street in Norwich.
The gallery exhibit - free and open to the public - features the oil paintings of Guilford resident and artist Chelsea Gibson, whose work takes a unique perspective on everyday social interactions. People Like You demonstrates how, through portraiture, a person might come to understand a complete stranger’s character simply by examining body language, expressions, and surroundings.
