Danny Galvez scored early for the Marauders taking a long through pass and converting the breakaway after a series of touches. With 12 minutes left in the first half, S-E added to its lead when Kevin Vibbard connected on a penalty kick. The PK was awarded when an S-E striker was taken down in front of the CVA goal.

From there, S-E had some uneven play on offense, while also giving up the Thunder’s lone goal. “We had some opportunities (to score more goals), but the lack of energy and creative passing hurt us,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez. “I felt that (Central Valley) outplayed us in the second half, and we were fortunate to get out of there with the win.”

The Marauders (4-1, 4-2) play at Holland Patent Friday.

Stockbridge Valley 2, Otselic Valley 1

SOUTH OTSELIC - Stockbridge Valley scored two second-half goals to erase OV's halftime lead in Wednesday's Central Counties League matchup.

"It was a tale of two halves," said OV coach Jake Preston. "We dominated the first half, and our goalie didn't even touch the ball. The second half was evenly played, but Stockbridge was more aggressive, and that paid off in the end."

Tommy Conklin tied the game for SV in the 49th minute. Eight minutes later, the Indians took the lead when a misclear by an OV defender ended in an own goal.

Alexander Mills had one goal and two assists for BVM, and Nicholas Page along with Anthony Marroni scored two goals apiece. "We looked lost and out of place at times out there," Preston said of Tuesday's game. "Often we were just chasing and kicking the ball."

We’re going to give it our all every game and continue to get better.”
