Johnson City 5, Norwich 3
JOHNSON CITY - Johnson City outhit and outplayed the Purple Tornado Friday, although the local club stayed in the game playing error-free baseball.
Vince Trayling had three hits and two RBI for JC, and Adam Kettle finished with two hits and two ribbies. Winning pitcher Colin Arvanitakis allowed just three hits and no earned runs to pick up the win. NHS scored all three of its runs in the last inning without a basehit. Three Wildcats errors and a balk led to the trio of tallies. "We put the ball in play and only struck out three times,” said Norwich coach Rich Turnbull. “We just hit it at them, and Trayling made four or five great catches in centerfield. Any one of those balls drop in the outfield, it's a different game."

G-MU 4, Richfield Springs 3
Adirondack 8, G-MU 7
RICHFIELD SPRINGS - In G-MU's seesaw season, it picked up its third win of the season as senior pitcher Jason Barrows struck out 14 and allowed just six hits in Friday's eight-inning victory over Richfield Springs.
Barrows led off the top of the eighth with a double, and went to third on a passed ball. Austin Burnside walked, and the two G-MU runners scored on a throwing error and a wild pitch. Richfield Springs threatened in its half of the eighth scoring once and placing the tying run at third with just one out. Barrows struck out the last two hitters to end the game.
"It was a pretty clean game right up to the end, and both pichers got outs when they needed them," said G-MU coach Rick Mohrein.
Barrows had two hits, and Nate Fuller finished 2-for-3.
In Saturday’s one-run loss, Adirondack scored an unearned run in the last of the eighth after a flyball dropped just under the glove of the G-MU outfielder.
Adirondack surged in front with six runs in the bottom of the sixth to erase G-MU’s 5-1 lead. G-MU committed two errors, issued two walks, and Adirondack complemented those extra baserunners with three basehits.
Dan Primrose had two hits for G-MU and eighth-grader Andrew Baker pitched six innings allowing just three earned runs. “I was very impressed with Andrew’s composure and confidence on the mound,” Mohrein said. “He didn’t get intimidated by the situation, and I know big things are going to happen for him in the future.”
