Davis used 92 pitches striking out nine and walking one for his first win this season. “Kevin pitched very well, He kept them off balance and only walking one was a key for us,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer

Heggie snagged an outfield line drive in the sixth inning, and threw to first base for a double play to end a scoring threat for Harpursville. Davis also picked off a Harpursville runner to help his own cause.

Oxford is 2-3 overall and it hosts Delhi today.

Windsor 12, Norwich 4

WINDSOR - Windsor scored four runs in its opening at-bat, and never looked back to hand Norwich its third straight loss Wednesday afternoon.

Black Knights pitcher Nate Wrighter was dominant out of the gate striking out the first eight Norwich batters he faced en route to the victory.

Wrighter, Josh Cady, Noah Jones, and Jake Conroy all finished with two hits apiece in the win.

“It was tough giving up the early lead, especially since we haven’t been hitting the ball,” said Norwich coach Rich Turnbull. “We started to have better at-bats later in the game, there just weren’t enough good at-bats throughout the game.”

Colby Griffin had two hits and an RBI to pace Norwich, and Rob Wheeler also drove in a run.

Holland Patent 6, Sherburne-Earlville 3

HOLLAND PATENT – Holland Patent didn’t register its first hit until the fifth inning, but went wild with six runs in the frame to rally past S-E Wednesday.

Holland Patent took advantage of two defensive miscues on the S-E side, and padded the damage when Nate Palmer delivered a two-run double.

“We had that one bad inning, but we’re not hitting the ball either,” said S-E coach Brian Hicks. “It’s tough because this is another league game, but we’ll figure it out. If we’re going to struggle, this is the time of the year to do it.”

S-E had an RBI sacrifice fly from Carter Cole, and Cole’s RBI single in the third scored Felix Rodriguez to make it a 3-0 game.

Josh Rutherford had four of Morris’ basehits, and Hector Martinez was one of four others with at least three hits driving in five runs. Martinez’s three-run double in the first inning lifted Morris to a 6-0 lead.

“They hit the ball all night. They were just clean hits, and we just couldn’t get it going tonight,” said G-MU coach Rick Mohrein.

Todd Randall also drove in three runs for Morris. G-MU is at Laurens Friday.

Greene 12, Walton 6

GREENE – Greene improved its record to 3-0 in the Midstate Athletic Conference busting open a 3-3 game with nine runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Prior to the Trojans’ uprising, Alex Csigi, pitching in relief, worked out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the top of the sixth allowing just a single run. Csigi fanned two and retired the last batter on a pop out.

Seven of Greene’s first eight hitters in the sixth reached by walk or hit batter to score three runs. Alex Kozisky and Lane Whittaker then hit back-to-back doubles driving in three more runs.

“They had to be disheartened going into the bottom of the sixth,” said Greene coach Steve Burghardt of Walton. “I was thinking we would be down at least 5-3 and would need to rally. Csigi came in and did a nice job for us. He’s done that three times for us this season.”

Whittaker went 3-for-4 to lead Greene (3-0, 5-1), while Kozisky and Joe Beckwith contributed 2-for-3 days. Greene hosts Harpursville today.
