The road trip isn’t over yet, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is always going and the Toddster still had a few things to do on the road. This week we decided to take a break and touch on some movies (in no particular order) that are on the way now that the Oscars are done. A couple of months away and the summer movie season begins.
Iron Man 3 - The Golden Avenger is back and now has to go into solo action! Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) aka Iron Man helped his team the Avengers take down Loki and the Chitauri. Tony has to put the events of New York behind him fast. The leader of the Ten Rings named the Mandrain (Ben Kingsley) has decided to go after Tony. Also, Tony finds out about an experimental process called “Extremis” that may help him control his armor even more. There might be some problems with it that he’ll have to deal with. With the help of Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Rhodey (Don Cheadle) aka ‘War Machine,” Tony will need all the help he can get. Will Iron Man be able to beat the terrorists and their leader take down the man responsible for him becoming what he has been?
Star Trek Into Darkness - The crew of the Starship Enterprise has gotten together with Captain Kirk (Chris Pine), Mr. Spock (Zachary Quinto), and the rest to find a way to come together to beat the Romulan threat who tried to blow up the Earth. The Enterprise has been out in space, but is called home. They find out that a member of Starfleet has been committing acts of terrorism, resulting in the destruction of a large part of the fleet. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise are sent after the man who has made his way to a war torn planet. Kirk has to bring him back by any means necessary. Can Kirk find a way to do it after his planet is almost torn to pieces and can he get to the bottom of who the man really is?
Man of Steel - Finding a new take on an old favorite isn’t always a bad thing. Jor-el (Russell Crowe) sends his son Kal-el to Earth to save him from the destruction of his home planet Krypton. Kal-el makes it to Earth and is found by Jonathan and Martha Kent (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane). They decide to keep him and raise him with the name Clark. Clark grows up slowly finding out he’s not like other Earthlings. He finds out that he has certain powers and when he gets older, he leaves home. Clark (Henry Cavill) tries to live his life, but uses his powers to help others. His travels lead him north where he finds out about his heritage and where he’s really from. Clark adopts a costume and becomes known as Superman. The public isn’t sure what to make of him. They’ll have to make their choice fast because a threat from Clark’s home planet has arrived. General Zod (Michael Shannon) wants to rule. Will he be able to complete his plan or will the Man of Steel be able to stop him?
