Class B
WAVERLY – Tristan Rifanburg remained unbeaten on the season as he easily captured the 132-pound title Saturday at Waverly.
In a rematch of last week’s STAC final, Rifanburg pinned Maine-Endwell’s Brock Post early in the second period.
“It was pretty much the same situation as last week,” said Norwich coach Joe Downey. “He was beating him like 12-0, and then pinned him.”
Cole Rifanburg (106) and Frank Garcia (145) placed second for Norwich, Ty Rifanburg (99) was third, and Jared Wilber (220) took fourth.
Garcia, the number one seed, gave up a five-point move to Whitney Point’s Jordan Torbitt, and never recovered in a 7-0 loss. Torbitt was named the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler. “We’ll go back and look at the tape and make our adjustments,” Downey said of Garcia. “We’ll have to stay out of the tie-ups (with Torbitt) and avoid the big throw.”
Team scores: Maine-Endwell 162.5 , Whitney Point 147.5; Waverly 140.5, Oneonta 125.5, Windsor 123.5, Susquehanna Valley 116.5, Chenango Valley 114, Norwich 102, Owego 100.5, Dryden 44.

NEW BERLIN - With nearly a full lineup in tow, Oxford won four individual titles, and had 10 place among the top four to easily claim the Class D title at Unadilla Valley Saturday.

S-E wins two titles
At Hannibal High School, Sherburne-Earlville won two individual titles at the Section III, Class C tourney. Hunter Owen, the number two seed, bested top-seeded Ryan O’Rourke of Adirondack, 4-2.
Meanwhile, Garrett DuVall (195) pinned his first two opponents, and earned a forfeit win from top-seeded Wyatt Albanese of Canastota in the finals. Placing third for S-E was Kevin Dunshee at 120 pounds and Ryan Wilcox at 145.
“He was rolling pretty good into the finals, it would have been a great match (against Albanese),” said S-E assistant coach Brian Hicks of DuVall. “We’re thinking Garrett should be a top seed. Hunter wrestled just unbelievable. The kid he beat had only one loss coming into the tournament.”
Owen rallied from a 1-0 deficit picking up a reversal and two back points in the third period.
