GREENE – Greene Central School District officials are keeping mum on the season-long suspension of longtime varsity football coach Tim Paske.

Numerous community members showed up at Wednesday night’s school board meeting, expressing both their support for Paske and frustration with not being told the reason for his suspension.

Greene Superintendent Jonathan Retz confirmed Paske’s suspension, but would not comment on the reasons behind it, citing personnel confidentiality.

Sources say Paske’s teaching position is unaffected by his suspension as football coach, a position he’s held since 2003.
