BOYS’ SOCCER
Greene 7, Sidney 1
GREENE - Greene’s Kurt Bartholomew and Alex Leone had hat tricks against Sidney Wednesday as the Trojans won their seventh straight game.
One day after posting a 4-0 shutout, the Trojans ramped up the offense early scoring six goals in the opening half. “It’s hard playing back-to-back, but were were able to finish and we’re starting to put things together,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman.
Leone and Bartholomew have been particularly effective of late as Greene pushes toward a MAC showdown next week with Unatego. “Alex and Kurt are playing well off of each other along with Karl (Zaengle),” Tallman said. “They are controlling the middle of the field.”
Zaengle added the sixth goal for Greene (8-1), who play at Walton Friday.

GIRLS’ TENNIS
Norwich 7, Chenango Forks 0
CHENANGO FORKS – Norwich reached the 10-win mark on Wednesday blanking Chenango Forks.
In the earlier meeting this season, Norwich took a 6-1 win over the Blue Devils. That one team point was avenged as NHS’s Jenni Borfitz reversed her loss to Mia Hayes, 7-5, 6-2.
“We’ve just got progressively better and better, and you can see that in our return matches,” said Norwich coach John Stewart, whose club has won 10 out of 11 since starting the season 0-2. “We had two losses right out of the gate, but we now have so much more confidence going into matches. I attribute that to the girls and the effort they put into it.”
Norwich (10-3) hosts Susquehanna Valley Friday.
