FIELD HOCKEY

New York Mills 1, Sherburne-Earlville 0

SHERBURNE – A collision between S-E goalie Katherine Robertson and a New York Mills player led to a loose ball in front of the net. Mills’ Jenna Hamblin capitalized on the opportunity scoring the game-winner with 4:20 left in the second half in Thursday’s matchup.

“We played really well, it was just one of those fluky goals,” said S-E coach Sheila Cooman. “Katherine came out, and didn’t quite make the tackle.”

Neither team had a decisive advantage in any statistical category, Cooman said, with most of the game played in the middle of the field. “This was a big improvement for us from two games ago. I was happy with that,” Cooman said.

S-E is at Herkimer Wednesday.
