Carter Cole scored on a header taking a cross from Elijah Morris five minutes into the second half to break a scoreless tie, and Kevin Vibbard backed that tally up just three minutes later in a carbon-copy type play heading in a crossing pass from David Sulton. “We were still getting over that tournament funk in the first half. There was a lot of emotion and energy spent there,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez of the first half. “It was tough and we gave them Monday off. It was like slow motion in the first half, but we really put it together in the second half.”

Antonino Magro added the third S-E goal with Mike Harlost picking up an assist. The Marauders (3-0) play at Hamilton Thursday.

Schenevus 2, G-MU 0

COPES CORNERS – Schenevus solved the G-MU defense in the final minutes of the second half to pull out the shutout win on Tuesday.

Corey Roseboom tallied on a header with 7:06 to play in the game, and Tim Gregory netted an insurance goal just one minute later. To that point, each team had a number of scoring opportunities, said G-MU coach Mark Luettger. “I think our midfield just ran out of gas,” said Luettger summing up the game. “Both teams created a number of opportunities early on that were just off the mark or the goalies made good saves.”

The Raiders play at Richfield Springs Friday.
