We’re here, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is still staying busy and trying to keep up with all the movies that are coming our way. Some reviews and teamups are on the way but more on those later. The Toddster has just been trying to decide what to see and there is so much out there. We’ve found a few this time and we hope you’re able to make some choices from the picks we’ve got for this week.
New on DVD
War Horse - Steven Spielberg has a knack for finding touching stories. During times in our lives, animals have always had a way of touching a person’s life. For Albert (Jeremy Irvine), he finds a horse named Joey. Over time, he develops a bond with him while taming and training him. Unfortunately, Joey is taken away to serve in the war Britain is fighting in. Over the years, Joey finds his way through the war and manages to influence the lives of the people he touches thanks to the bond he once had with Albert. Can Joey find a way back to his friend? Spielberg has been spending more time producing these days than directing. My sources do tell me that there is another Indiana Jones movie in the works with George Lucas and Harrison Ford being interested. They’re just waiting for the right story. Stay Tuned!
We Bought A Zoo - People’s lives always change and not always in the ways we expect them to. Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon) recently lost his wife and needed a change for himself and the family so they could make a new start. Ben decides to buy an old estate that he thinks is perfect away from the city. There is a catch (make sure you always check the fine print, Lesson of the week, Patrollers). The estate has a zoo and the only way that Ben can buy is if he keeps the Zoo, the animals, and the staff that runs it. Ben decides to make a go of it and meets most of the staff including Kelly Foster (Scarlett Johannsson). Will this new start help Ben and his family move on and make their lives better? Get ready for action because Scarlett Johannsson is when she joins Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk in battle as the Black Widow in “The Avengers” hitting theaters May 4th. The Toddster will be there. Bet on it!
