Harpursville 75, Unadilla Valley 64
NEW BERLIN – Despite its seven-game winning streak going by the wayside, Unadilla Valley earned a measure of respect pushing unbeaten Harpursville for four quarters.
The Hornets, the number one ranked Class C team in the state, had 13 points from Amanda Frayer in the first quarter, and built a 45-32 lead at the halftime break.
“They couldn’t miss in the first half,” said UV coach Brandi Backus. “We made some adjustments at halftime, and that helped.”
Led by Amanda Off, Jordan Anderson, and Taylor Davis, the Storm closed the deficit to as little as six points in the second half. “We never gave up,” Backus said. “There were some mistakes in the fourth quarter, but you’ll have that with a young team.
Off scored a team-high 23 points, Anderson netted 20, and Davis 15.
Frayer topped all scorers with 28 points as the Hornets improved to 10-0 on the season.

S-E 51, Waterville 42
WATERVILLE – Sherburne-Earlville's strong first half allowed it to survive a shaky third period and hold off Waterville for its 10th win of the season on Saturday.
Karly Wagner came off the bench for six points in the second quarter helping S-E to 36-19 lead. Waterville nearly erased that deficit in one period outscoring the Marauders 17-4 in the third. "As well as we played offensively in the first half, we struggled that much in the third quarter," said S-E coach Karen Mulligan. "We weren't turning it over, we were just missing easy shots."
Balanced scored righted the ship for Mulligan and the Marauders, who completed a regular season sweep of Waterville. Cassie Beaver had 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Marauders, Sierra Morris hauled down 11 caroms, and Briana Vibbard scored nine.
