Sherburne-Earlville 64, Sauquoit Valley 44
SHERBURNE – After a slow start, Sherburne-Earlville quickly gained command of its game with Sauquoit Valley.
Down 5-0 in the first minute, S-E outscored Sauquoit Valley 17-6 to finish the period, and extended that margin with a 23-6 second stanza. Paul Romanenko and Jesse Yerton hit two three-pointers apiece in the second quarter, and the Marauders had five of their seven treys during that eight-minute span. “We really picked up our defensive intensity after they took the early lead,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “The nice thing is that we had six different people score in the second quarter. I think depth is the strength of our team. We have nine guys that can score.”
Sam Caton had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead the Marauders. Austin Jasper scored 10, while Romaneko and Cole Hodges split 18 points evenly. Randy Briggs handed out a team-best seven assists.
S-E plays at Adirondack Friday.

CONKLIN – Norwich’s defense proved unyielding – again – Wednesday night at Susquehanna Valley.
The Tornado, who have won four straight games, have not allowed more than 31 points in any those contests. Too, the Tornado’s opposition has scored as many as 10 points in just three of the last 16 quarters. “We’re just playing tough defense and really getting after people,” said Norwich coach Josh Bennett.
Offensively, Bryn Loomis and Jennifer Borfitz scored 12 points apiece, and Hailey Dietrich added 11. Loomis scored all 12 of her points in the second half with Dietrich and Borfitz spearheading the first-half effort. “Tonight was the best we’ve played offensively,” Bennett said. “We really moved the ball well, and this is probably the most balanced team I have had. We’re not consistently making the shots that we should make, but when we do, we’ll go off.”

Harpursville 58, Bainbridge-Guilford 30
HARPURSVILLE – B-G shot less than 30 percent for the game, and had few answers on defense for the Hornets’ Miranda Drummond and Savannah Murray.
Drummond scored 21 points for the defending Midstate Athletic Conference champions, while Murray added 13. Harpursville took advantage of B-G’s misfires in the third quarter to quickly expand on a 24-11 halftime lead. “We made a couple of mistakes, and all of a sudden they were able to stretch their lead out,” said B-G coach Bob Conway of the second half.
