OXFORD – A two-car motor vehicle accident on State Highway 220 sent two to the hospital Sunday.

According to Sgt. C. Ted Ellingsen of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, 19 year-old Autumn Matthews of Oxford was headed south on County Road 32 when she failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and pulled out onto 220 in front of a 2001 Ford pick-up truck being driven by Derik Gould, 21, of Guilford.

The truck hit Matthews’ 2008 Mazda and then careened into the guard rail.

Matthews, who complained of neck pain following the accident, was transported to Wilson Hospital in Binghamton by Cooperstown Medical Transport.
