G-MU 52, Morris 45 (OT)

MORRIS – G-MU forward Kristen Barnes had a quiet game for four quarters, then spoke up offensively in overtime. Barnes had a three-point play off a pass from Miranda Hill, and added another layup scoring all five of her points during the extra period as the Raiders topped Morris Friday night.

Tanya Barnes had 27 points for G-MU, 13 in the opening period, and Hill scored 11 to give the Raiders a 3-0 mark in division play. “The way we’re playing, it helps to have Tanya, who opens things up,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson. “Miranda is playing unbelievably for us, too. Morris has a pretty good club, and the Flint (Amanda) girl shot lights out.”

Flint scored the tying bucket in regulation with under 35 seconds to play. G-MU was called for an offensive foul on its last possession, and Morris had a shot for the win that was off the mark.
