Unadilla Valley 3, Oxford 3
NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit, and scored the tying goal with three seconds left in regulation to force a deadlock with Oxford Wednesday night.
UV, leading MAC’s division two, fell behind in the first half after Oxford’s Julie Heggie scored twice. “We weren’t marking as well in the first half and we needed to communicate better,” said UV coach Janelle Ross. “I told (the team) to stay positive and play our game. Once we scored our first goal, you could see everyone pick up the energy.”
Emily Hutchinson had the first goal for UV, and Mackenzie Talbot tied the game. Oxford would regain the lead behind a Haley Witchella goal before Taylor Davis netted the equalizer as time was running out.
UV (7-1-1, 9-3-1) can virtually lock up the MAC Division II title Friday with a win at home against Bainbridge-Guilford.
