Afton 7, Greene 4
AFTON – Afton defeated Greene for the second time in as many years jumping out to a 6-0 lead after three innings.
Mike Muller had 10 strikeouts to earn the win, and was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate highlighted by a two-run homer in the opening inning. Muller scattered nine Greene hits, five of those of the extra-base variety. “He needed those 10 strikeouts, if he didn’t have them, Greene would have scored a lot more runs,” said Afton coach Ron Rapp.
Brendan Kinne had three hits for Greene, while Nic Puglisi and Brian Day had two hits apiece.
Afton plays at Unadilla Valley Wednesday.

Unatego 11, B-G 7
BAINBRIDGE – Down four runs after two innings, Unatego’s offense began to click, in large part due to B-G’s battles with pitching wildness.
The Bobcats issued nine base on balls during the contest, said head coach Pete Mansheffer, and six of those free passes led to runs. “They also had some key hits with runners in scoring position,” Mansheffer said.
Dillon Maxson led Unatego with three hits, two RBI and two stolen bases.
The Bobcats’ defeat spoiled a career day from lefty Eric Oefelein. Oefelein had three hits including two solo homers and a double finishing with two runs scored and two RBI.
B-G (0-2) is at Greene today.

Unadilla Valley 11, Oxford 9
(Game called in the bottom of the sixth)
OXFORD – Monday night’s MAC interdivisional at Oxford was halted in the bottom of the sixth inning with the game under protest, said Blackhawks coach Chris Palmer.
UV took the lead with five runs in the top of the sixth, a key RBI coming on a single from Ian Davis.
Early in the game the Storm received ribbies from Zach Montgomery and Brandon Miles to lead 5-3. Oxford scored six runs in the bottom of the third to regain the advantage. Devin Rifanburg had a pinch-hit RBI single, and four runs scored on UV wild pitches.
Palmer said the game was called in the bottom of the sixth with the Blackhawks batting. Palmer said that after the protest is heard by league officials, the game will either resume in the sixth inning at a later date, or UV will receive the victory.
Oxford plays at Walton Tuesday.

Charlotte Valley 3, G-MU 2
DAVENPORT – G-MU’s only error of the game played a key role in Charlotte Valley’s winning run in the fifth inning in Monday’s non-league game.
Mike Ballard singled in the fifth – his second hit of the game – and moved to third on an outfield fielding error. Ballard scored the winning run on an RBI groundout.
“It was a pretty clean game for both teams, we just didn’t hit it well,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson.
Mike Ontl and Ballard had RBI doubles in the third inning to put CV in front 2-1.
A walk, stolen base, passed ball, and wild pitch led to G-MU’s tying run in the top half of the fifth.
