NORWICH – Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County welcomed two new and two returning board members following elections held at the organization’s annual meeting on Dec. 15.
As a result of the vote, Andrew Kross of Earlville will begin his second, three-year term on the board, of which he currently serves as president. Kross, who operates Indian Camp Farm with his father David, previously served as the organization’s vice-president. He is also a member of Cornell Cooperative Extenstion’s Advisory Committee for the Central New York Regional Dairy, Livestock and Field Crop Program.
Marilyn Carley of Norwich was also re-elected for another term on the board. According to a biography provided by CCE, Carley has served as a 4-H leader, and has been a volunteer cooperative extension educator for 10 years. She is currently teaching a variety of adult and youth classes related to clothing and textiles and has, in the past, lectured in SUNY Oneonta’s Human Ecology Department.
Joining Kross, Carley and the other members of the board are Linda La-Rosa Mosner and Steve Locke.
Mosner, a 20-year Oxford resident, is a former employee of South Central New York Resource Conservation and Development. She currently works with Page’s Seed in Greene as the company’s Marketing and Education coordinator, through which she has developed close ties with CCE’s Master Gardner Volunteer Program, 4-H and Ag in the Classroom. The native New Yorker also owns her own business, Rural Solutions, through which she “researches, develops and administers non-medical grant proposals for mid-size corporations, non-profits, businesses and government agencies.”
Locke, a Cornell University graduate and long-time Bainbridge resident, is currently a loan officer with First Pioneer Farm Credit in Sangerfield. In this role, he serves accounts in Chenango, Madison and Otsego Counties. His extension ties can be traced to his 28 years of operating an area dairy farm. During those years, he said, “CCE was a trusted source of financial and diary management tools and information.”
