HANCOCK – Evan Whitmore’s big second half allowed Hancock to pull away for the victory in Monday’s game against Unadilla Valley.
Whitmore scored 24 of his 32 points over the final two periods, most of those points coming from short range on inside plays or offensive rebounds. The Storm were within six at halftime, but the Wildcats were able to extend that lead to 14 entering the fourth quarter.
“We had too many turnovers in the third quarter, and we missed some easy ones inside,” said UV coach Matt Osborne. “We should have been able to hang with them.”
