Sherburne-Earlville 3, Morrisville-Eaton 1
SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville won back-to-back games for the first time this season, and avenged a loss to Morrisville-Eaton Thursday afternoon.
Alec Shedden tied the game for S-E (3-7-1) with 15 minutes left in the first half getting a pass from Carter Cole, and Eric Muth had the go-ahead goal seven minutes later. Muth finished with two goals, his second straight multi-goal game.
The Marauders now have nine goals over the last two games. Head coach Mike Rodriguez says an alignment shakeup is the reason for the improved offense.
“Our offense was sputtering and we just weren’t putting things away,” Rodriguez said. “We’ve made some adjustments, and the offense is starting to click. We’ve also improved the communication and the team chemistry.”
S-E plays at Canastota Monday.

We hit a scoring drought, but we now seem to be getting a couple scores here and there from different people. That’s the way it has to be.”

Greene 6, Owego 0
GREENE – Greene remained unbeaten on the season, and did not allow a shot on its home field for the second time this week.
Chrissy Conroe scored after a penalty corner stick stop by Anna Crumb just 1:28 into the game. Crumb scored two more goals in succession at 26:41 and 19:59 to raise the Trojans’ lead to three.
“Our passing has been right on the money, and it’s giving us more scoring opportunities,” said Greene coach Sue Carlin, whose team has 16 goals over its last two games. “Offensively, we’re overloading the top of the penalty circle with our midfielders, and we’re able to keep the ball in (the circle).”
Cathy Stahl, Erin Smith, and Emily Conroe added goals for Greene, who played its reserves most of the second half. “Playing are subs are a big key. We’ll need those kids to step up next year,” Carlin said.
