Hancock 2, G-MU 0
COPES CORNERS – Hancock stopped G-MU’s six-game winning streak getting a five-hit shutout from pitcher Derek Keesler.
The Raiders (8-3) had runners on third base in three separate innings, and even had runners on second and third with no outs in the fourth. “We didn’t come up with the big hit,” summed up G-MU coach Jim Johnson. “We had a strikeout or they made a nice play.”
A throwing error in the fourth allowed Hancock’s Cody Satkowski to score the first run. Travis Drake’s RBI double in the sixth added insurance.
G-MU senior pitcher Cody Hall was the hard-luck loser. He allowed just three hits striking out a season-high 14 and walking two. “Cody was spectacular, especially coming off just a couple days of rest,” said G-MU coach Jm Johnson. “He was just so on and felt strong. There was no reason to take him out.”
G-MU hosts Worcester today.

Deposit 10, Oxford 8
DEPOSIT – Oxford nearly made up the nine-run deficit yesterday after rain suspended play Monday afternoon due to rain.
The Blackhawks put eight on the board in the fourth and fifth innings drawing to within a pair of runs. “It was a tale of two days,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. “Mentally we weren’t focused the first two innings, and it was obvious we did not want to be there. To our credit, we came back strong, and good teams make good games out of these situations.”
Tom Gould went 2-for-4 for Oxford (5-2, 7-5), and Derrick Head had a two-run triple in the fourth inning.

Sidney 15, Greene 9
GREENE – Sidney finished off a win over Greene in a contest that was suspended due to rain last Friday.
Mike Guerriere, who did not play on Friday, came up big in his two at-bats over the final two innings. The Sidney senior hit a solo homer in the sixth, and added a three-run round-tripper in the seventh.
Greene’s Nic Puglisi went 3-for-4 with two RBI. The Trojans left the bases loaded in the fifth and the seventh, and left 13 runners on base. “We had more opportunities to cut into Sidney’s lead, and couldn’t quite get the hit we needed,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton.
