Otselic Valley 12, George Jr. Republic 1
SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley put a half dozen runs on the board in the first two innings, and beat George Jr. Republic for the second time this season, Tuesday at home.
Freshman Dillon Comfort hit a three-run triple in the first inning and added an RBI single in the second. He also pitched four innings giving up two hits for his first career varsity win.
Brad Wentworth added a 3-for-4 day for OV (3-0), while Karl Graham, Jamin Selan, and Comfort finished with two hits apiece.
The Vikings play at Madison Thursday.

G-MU 11, Downsville 4
COPES CORNERS – G-MU defeated Downsville for the second time this season bunching its runs over the final three innings.
The Raiders scored two runs in the fourth to break a scoreless tie, and did so without a basehit.
Tyler Wildfier struck for two-run singles in the fifth and sixth innings helping G-MU pull away. “It was a tough one tonight, not like the first time we played them,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson. “We hit the ball tonight – we only struck out four times. We just hit it at them and they made plays that they didn’t make when we played them earlier this season.”
Nate Sloan struck out eight and allowed two hits in five-plus innings of work to get the win.

Oxford 15, Deposit 13
OXFORD – Oxford built a big advantage after four innings, and hung on for its second win in as many days.
Jamie Smolcknop had an RBI single to start a six-run third, and a few opportunistic plays later, Eddie Grundner capped the uprising with a two-run single.
Deposit trailed by as many as seven runs, but closed to within two on the strength of a four-run seventh. “We kept battling, and that’s two days in a row where we were mentally tough,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. “It got dark at the end and it started to rain, but we held on for the win. We were opportunistic early in the game to put ourselves in position to win.”
Smolcknop had two hits, three RBI, and three runs scored. P.J. Hubman reached base safely in five trips to the plate finishing 2-for-2 with three runs.

OXFORD – Outhit substantially by the Blackhawks, Deposit took 14 walks and made key defensive plays late in the game to preserve a one-run victory Tuesday.
Melissa Martin doubled three times for the Lumberjacks and finished with three RBI and three runs scored.
Alyshia Crawford went 4-for-5 for Oxford, and Julie Heggie added a 3-for-4 day at the plate. “They made really good plays at the end of the game when we had runners in scoring position,” said Oxford coach Margo Barrows. “We just came up a little short.”
Oxford (2-6) is at B-G today.

COPES CORNERS – Sabra Yancey had four RBI, and Krista Baxter added two hits and two ribbies leading Downsville to a non-league win over G-MU Tuesday.
The visiting club put together five-run innings in teh fourth and sixth to pull away. “We had a couple of key errors in those innings, and we weren’t able to recover,” said G-MU coach Nancy Estabrook.
Sam Delaney had two hits and two runs for G-MU, and Logan Eltz added two hits.
G-MU is at Schenevus today.
