Greene 77, Deposit 9
GREENE – Greene set a new team record in the shot-clock era for fewest points allowed in a rout of Deposit Monday night.
Deposit did not convert a field goal over the middle two quarters making just a single free throw in the third quarter.
Greene pulled away from an 11-4 first-quarter lead outscoring the visitors 29-0 in the second eight minutes. Eight different Trojans scored in shooting a combined 14-for-16 from the field. “It was nice that everybody on our team had a chance to contribute tonight,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton, whose club improved to 15-0 this season.
Barb Borst led with 16 points, Megan McDermott was next with 14, and Abby Wentlent tacked on a season-high 12 points. Anna Crumb dished out a team-high five assists.
Greene visits Unadilla Valley Wednesday.

Sidney 70, Unadilla Valley 40
SIDNEY – Sidney recognized its senior players Monday night, but it was junior Dani Gravel who rode the wave of emotion early on.
Gravel, coming off a 27-point night last weekend against Greene, had 22 of her game-high 26 points in the first half to lead her team to a 35-21 advantage.
UV switched a box-and-one on Gravel in the second half, and although Gravel’s scoring pace tapered off, Sidney’s collective scoring did not. “That was the most amazing shooting I’ve seen,” said UV coach Brandi Backus. “We had to come out of our box-and-one (on Gravel) because everybody else on their team was scoring.”
Hannah Johnson had 13 points and Melissa Friedel chipped in with 12 for UV.

B-G 50, Afton 39
AFTON – B-G scored all but two of its 16 points in the fourth quarter at the foul line, and freshman Randi Conway was 9-for-12 from the stripe in the last eight minutes to secure a win at Afton Monday.
B-G senior Dani Conway had 19 points, and younger sister Randi matched Dani with a career-high 19 points. Dani Conway fouled out with a few minutes to play leaving the game in the hands of several younger players. “They got it as close as six points, but we hung in there and were able to extend the lead because of our foul shooting,” said B-G coach Bob Conway.
Shania Vandermark also made two clutch free throws late in the game and grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds.
Afton’s Jessica Winans had 20 points and Heather Simonds 11. The Crimson Knights were down double-digit points at the halftime break after scoring just 10 points. “Defensively, we did a good job recognizing their scorers, and we got out to their shooters,” Conway said.

Westmoreland 76, Sherburne-Earlville 58
WESTMORELAND – Westmoreland avenged an early-season loss to the Marauders, who shot just 33 percent from the field for the game.
“They shot the ball well in the second half, and we did not,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “They rebounded much better than the first time and hurt us on the offensive glass. They pretty much shot the ball until they made it.”
Dan DeCarlo had his second straight 20-point game against S-E to lead Westmoreland’s scoring.
Sean Boise had 15 for S-E (5-12) and Ryan Collins scored 11. The Marauders host Cooperstown Thursday.
