OXFORD – Sidney junior Dani Gravel scored on a breakaway layup with 43 seconds remaining to break a 41-41 tie and give Sidney a victory at Oxford Wednesday.

Norwich 39, Owego 27
NORWICH – Norwich halted a four-game losing streak taking control of Wednesday’s game in the third quarter.
The Tornado held the Indians without a field goal, and broke away from a 19-19 halftime score to lead 33-21. “We were a little more patient on offense in the third quarter, and we got better looks at the basket,” said Norwich coach Krista Porter.
Elisha Eddy and Adrienne Sharpe each had two baskets in the third, while Hannah Runyon picked up four points including a 15-footer with three seconds left in the quarter.
Owego’s only points of the quarter came on a pair of free throws from Brittany Rando. “Our man-to-man defense started to get more aggressive as the game went along, and we forced a lot of turnovers,” Porter said.
