HAMILTON – “All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts …” This couldn’t be truer for Sherburne Music-Theater Society’s upcoming production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) at The Palace in Hamilton at 8 p.m. tonight and Saturday.
The daunting task of “playing many parts” and performing the bard’s 37 plays and 154 sonnets in under two hours is in the hands of only three actors; Adrian Enscoe, Joe Mettler and Tyler Rundell. These three names are not new to those who have seen performances by SMTS and the S-E Drama club in the past few years.
Adrian Enscoe has won statewide recognition for his performances of Puck from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Herbert Pocket from Great Expectations, Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz, and Algernon from The Importance of Being Earnest among many others, including an audience favorite award at the Annual TANYS (Theatre Association of New York State) Festival in 2005 for his comic performance as Francis Winger in a one act entitled Chicken Wings. Adrian will be attending Carnegie Mellon School of Drama this fall.
Joe Mettler has become a recognized name in several local circles. He can be found playing guitar and singing from his repertoire of over 100 original songs at places like The Barge, and many local open mic nights. Joe has also been recognized on the state level with awards for playwrighting and his comedic acting abilities. He will be attending the Syracuse University Film School in the fall.
