NORWICH – Taxpayers within the municipalities making up the Norwich City School District will see changes in portions of their tax levy for the upcoming school year.

According to Deputy Superintendent Margaret Boice and Superintendent Gerard O’Sullivan, fluctuations in the tax levy happen every year based on each town’s assessed value and equalization rate. The City of Norwich will be paying out the most with a total of $4.3 million, followed by the Town of Norwich at $3.33 million and some areas such as the Town of Preston will see a valuation rate decrease going as low as 49 percent.

“These are totals that fluctuate year to year,” said O’Sullivan.
