Oxford 46, Norwich 20
OXFORD – Oxford won the first three bouts by first-period pins, and went on to defeat Norwich in a local non-league matchup Thursday.
Victor Pier (152), Travis Frank (160), and Justin Crandall (171) had wins for Oxford, who moved to 9-9 in dual meets this season.
Josh Steward (189) put Norwich on the board with a win by technical fall, and Rick Reihl (125) won by decision.
“We felt there were some pivotal matchups at 125, 140, and 215,” said Norwich coach Terry Hagenbuch. “We felt we needed to win at least two of them. We won just one of them, and the other two lost by pin.”
Prior to the matchup, Oxford senior grapplers Skyler Smith, Ian Grundner, Victor Pier, and Andy Hadlock were honored.
