G-MU 39, Charlotte Valley 37
ONEONTA – G-MU will get a third meeting in two weeks with Morris after knocking off the 12th-ranked Class D team in the state Thursday in the Morris Boosters Tournament at SUNY Oneonta.
Brittney Rudnitsky’s three ball with under a minute left tied the game for G-MU, and following a defensive stop, Dani Conway fed Kayla Armstrong on a layup for a brief 37-35 lead.
Miranda Zimmerman’s putback of an offensive rebound tied the game giving G-MU the ball with 20 seconds left. Conway drew a foul under the basket and hit two free throws for the win. Conway finished with 18 points. “It was a good win for us, and maybe they haven’t seen our level of competition so far this season,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson. “They were state-ranked and we were able to beat them, so we’re pretty happy about that.”

Cooperstown 59, S-E 57
COOPERSTOWN – Cooperstown’s Kaitlin Cring made 4-of-4 foul shot attempts in the final minute to hold off the Marauders and send them to their second two-point defeat of the season.
S-E fought back from a nine-point deficit to tie the game twice in the fourth quarter, but hurt its chances at rallying for the win missing two front ends of one-and-one foul shots. “We outplayed them and outrebounded them, but we didn’t make enough shots,” said S-E coach Jeff Barry, whose club finished with a 28 percent shooting percentage.
Erin Dowdall led S-E (4-3) with 16 points, Adrienne Cross added 12, and Danielle Green had her most complete game of the season scoring a season-high 12 points to go with 10 rebounds, seven assists, and six steals.
